Summer doesn’t need to end.
During a spontaneous summer full of introspection, unexpected opportunities, and challenges, I navigated life's complexities and sought balance amidst the fast-paced moments, drawing lessons from every experience.
I left Washington to get some tacos from Durangos. Now it's 1 am, and I'm driving down Memorial. I took a left under 610, then made a right to get on Westheimer.
With the windows down and the sunroof open, I'm listening to Larry June.
I have to take the long way home because nobody has time to get pulled over. You know?
I'm here thinking to myself, "Can this night get any better?"
Then I get that text: "You up?"
"Of course," I replied... makes an illegal U-turn
Handling adversity breeds versatility, but balance is still a necessity.
It feels like a million and one things are happening, but somehow you're expected to handle your business like an adult.
Whatever that means. rolls eyes
I believe summer brings the most problems. It's too easy to get caught up doing the wrong things. And, for some reason, time doesn't exist. That's perhaps the best part.
Section 126, Row 12, Seat 6. We're at the Astros game. It was my first game. The guy who brought us bought out the whole row for the entire season. There were only four of us. I asked him about his success, and he responded, "You kind of have to be crazy enough to think you can make it."
I didn't overthink his words, but I recognized them as great advice.
Spontaneity is defined as the quality or state of being spontaneous. That's how this summer has been.
At the beginning of the summer, two brothers opened up their network to me, and it felt like the floodgates opened. Money, connections – you name it. Things came so easily. I don't believe in coincidences. You just have to be prepared for what comes next.
"Wait for the Lord; be strong, take heart, and wait for the Lord." - Psalm 27:14
I'm not allowing my limitations to dictate my actions. Instead, I take things at face value and double down on decisions made at the moment.
Some say this lifestyle is too fast. I agree. But are you really aiming for an ordinary life?
Even though summer presents many challenges, it brought out the best in me. Time becomes irrelevant when you're constantly moving forward.
Winter is coming.
Escape 214
Navigating life's challenges involves finding peace amidst chaos, taking responsibility for reactions, and persevering through both good and bad decisions.
Well, it's my life, so why can't I be in control, right?
Getting older has just made it clearer that it's not control we may seek, but a sense of peace during moments of chaos.
I guess the question is how many losses can you take before you crack?
That's actually my current dilemma: taking uncontrollable losses in the midst of trying to grow.
Holding myself accountable for the controllable and the uncontrollable because it’s about how I choose to react, right?
Decisions that felt right but didn't pan out as intended are definitely a hard pill to swallow.
Decisions that didn’t feel so great but elevated you somehow, and now you're questioning why you ever doubted yourself.
Seriously though, how many L's does one need to take before they can move forward?
I guess that’s why time management matters.
These past few months of just moving forward, no matter what has been thrown my way, have definitely been a trip.
This escape was a reminder of what one had to do to get here, but also a warning.
I guess my fear was that comfort takes its form when stress is involved.
In closing, stay down until you come up.
